About Hungry Souls
Hungry for God? Ever catch yourself pondering your spiritual state and thinking, "There must be something more..."
Hungry Souls is a mentoring ministry designed to meet the needs of men and women whose souls are starving. The demands of our hyperactive, materialistic society (despite the abundance of spiritual resources) often create spiritual malnourishment. Men and women frequently find themselves famished for the reality of a personal, significant and growing relationship with God.
All our growth tools are developed and tested in the lively laboratory of thinking lay people (who understand the reality of spiritual hunger). Our advisory council include people who have spent decades in ministry dealing with spiritual formation, spiritual direction, spiritual mentoring, within the local church and in para-church ministries.
We mentor (come and walk beside) through:
- One on one contacts, including limited amounts of life-coaching.
- Overseas pilgrimages.
- Small listening growth groups.
- Retreats of silence.
- The weekly email newsletter, Soulish Food.
- Events designed to stimulate spiritual dialogue, such as the yearly Stratford (Canada) Festival Tour.
- Phone appointments.
- The Hungry Souls website.
- A curriculum for churches to help establish local spiritual mentoring programs, available in the summer of 2008
- Other ideas even now cooking in the laboratory of lively minds.
- A variety of available published projects, white papers, and tested spiritual growth tools.
